WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Barack Obama says Americans are getting hit twice -- once at the gas pump, and once more by sending billions of dollars in tax subsidies to oil companies.
Speaking in the White House Rose Garden, Obama again sought to pressure Congress to end $4 billion in tax subsidies. He says oil companies are pulling in record profits and shouldn't get taxpayer help when that money could be used on alternative energy.
Obama, up for re-election, has sought to align himself with people frustrated by high gas prices.
Many congressional Republicans say cutting the tax breaks would lead to higher fuel prices, raising costs on oil companies and affecting their spending on exploration. Obama couldn't end the subsidies when Democrats controlled Congress earlier in his term.
Obama spoke before a crowd in the Rose Garden that included representatives from energy, business and environmental groups, as well as people who wrote on social media sites about how rising gas costs affected their finances.
The average price for a gallon of unleaded in Washington state was $4.11, according to AAA. In the Seattle-Bellevue-Everett area, it’s $4.15.

A natural gas (fossil fuel) company that oddly enough has no apparent link to British or U.S. companies really screwed the pooch on this one, proving that Global Destruction in the pursuit of fossil fuel is not just an American problem, but a global problem. On May 28, 2006 Natural Gas Drilling triggered an erruption of hot noxious mud that has buried a dozen villages under as much as 20 feet of ooze, displaced 30,000 residents and killed 13 people, with no end to the eruption in sight. So far this volcanic ruptuer has spewed out more than 99 billion cubic yards of hot, noxious mud, explosive gas and green house gas. This fossil fuel drilling rupture called Lusi by locals, has has errupted continuously for five years already and is not expected to wane enough for it to begin to be controlled for another 25 years. In the beginning of this disaster the Indonesian fuel company, Bakrie Gas and Oil Co. tried to blame the accident on an earthquake that occured nearly 155 miles away two days before, but the accident happened within 200 yards of one of their Natural Gas Fracking Sights in East Java.
Before and After - Indonesia's Natural Gas Fracking Caused Hot Mud Volcano.
Erupting for 5 years now and expected to errupt at least 25 more years.
Those of us who consider ourselves to be adults should be entirely cognizant that the fossil fuel industry has never been able to "morally" regulate itself. Unsuspecting Americans were screwed out of the value of their land and then it was polluted by the very first american oil tycoon ever, Edward L. Dohey. (See the movie about him and the birth of america's oil industry, "There Will Be Blood.")
The same thing is happening in america now with the Natural Gas Industry in America, unsuspecting landowners have signed deals with gas companies that have contaiminated their drinking water so badly with methane (and other chemicals) that water can catch fire.
Not suprisingly the same mistake that BP made with Deepwater Horizon is the same exact mistake that Bakrie Gas & Oil (who has since filed bankrupcy so they don't have to pay for thier errors.) made in East Java. They failed to have a "proper casing" made of cement & steel at their well and sudden back pressure exploded uncontrollably. The gamble Indonesia took for the sake of fossil fuel was assumed by drilling near active volcanoes, incidentally the entire Texas Gulf (BP's Deepwater Horizon location) is also surrounded by active underwater volcanoes. We have just been lucky that it has only happened once so far, and that it wasn't even worse than it is, the largest oil spill in history.

Why do we even take the risk? Every sensible person knows that the oil, coal, and natural gas that was once an amazing benefit to the economical and industrial growth of our civilization has already become a sinister monster that will only fuck us all in the ass by the end of the day. We tried to mitigate our energy crisis with nuclear power, a technology that was originally developed to kill people (lots of people at once.) The world has had several serious nuclear power accidents, contaminating our air, water, and contaminating the land around the accident sites so badly that it will be unhabitable for centuries. There are already enormous stockpiles of radioactive waste hidden around the world that will be a threat to the environment for centuries, no matter what their claims about "new" technology. Here too, the operators of these facilities have a long illustrious record of not being believable or able to regulate themselves morally either.
The coal industry also has a shamefull history of not being able to regulate itself morally as well. They have denied health risks to their miners have existed, cut corners with tens of thousands of workplace violations presumably because it saves them money and increases profits, but it also results in explosions and the deaths of workers.

The most shamefull fact of all in this pattern of energy industry crimes against workers and against nature is that governments are not only complacent about immoral fuel industry activities, governments are active participants in the profiting off of them, In fact "global governments" have taken the lead in exploiting these foul and dangerous resources, their once welcome benefits to humankind have become lost in the past. The Ecuadorian Goverment sold out it's people to Chevron when Chevron dumped 18 billion gallons of toxic waste water into the Amazon. The U.S. governement has exempted Natural Gas companies from reporting which chemicals and how much of them are pumped into the ground of American soil. This is known as "The Haliburton Loophole." The Interior Departments Division of Mining and Mineral Resources, the United States Geological Survey, the Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Bureau Of Land Management, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the United States department Of Energy all have proven themselves unable to regulate themselves morally. Haliburton Company has inextricable ties to U.S. Government. They are the only BP Deepwater Horizon Contactor that is not getting sued over their role in the disaster. Haliburton contractors work side by side with U.S. Soldiers in the long running lethal "chess game" in the Mid-East to protect and/or take as much oil and gas as America can get it's hands on. Government has even gone so far as to minimize and even stop Green Energy Technology from even being developed for fear it will steal away their personal profits from the fossil fuels industry.
Here we are all here together with plenty of differences and also the knowledge that life as we know it depends on each and evreyone of us to help perpetuate it. We are the highest form of life, or are we?
Just like the reality of the "Cold War," every person on earth was fully aware that Nuclear War, intentional or accidental is an immediate threat to the entire planet. We each have the power to choose whether we will continue to trust the people who manage all this stuff (by doing nothing) and resting our fate in their hands, or band together with one voice, with the passion of The Million Man March on Washington DC for equal rights, taking to the streets to end the war in Vietnam, the non-violent civil resistance by the masses of people and the deadly retaliation and massacre of civilians by the Chinese Governement in Tiananmen Square, this protest was in favor of anti-communist economic and political reform.
Friends and neighbors have even banded together with onstoppable passion actually taking up arms to fight and risk thier own lives for the pricnciples of human rights such as in our international Solidarity to crush the evil Nazi extermination of other people, and the countless Civil Wars throughout history that occured when tens of thousands of citizens decided that their own governments have become unjust. Naturally non-violence and democracy is the preferred method for change and the improvement of our human condition. My last example is of Lech Walesa, the person who gave us the word Solidarity. He is a Polish politician, trade-union organizer, and human-rights activist. A charismatic leader, he co-founded Solidarity (Solidarność), the Soviet bloc's first independent trade union, he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, and served as President of Poland 1990–95. Wałęsa was an electrician by trade, with no higher education. Soon after beginning work at the GdaÅ„sk (then, "Lenin") Shipyards, he became a trade-union activist. For this he was persecuted by the Polish communist government, placed under surveillance, fired in 1976, and arrested several times. In August 1980 he was instrumental in negotiations that led to the ground-breaking GdaÅ„sk Agreement between striking workers and the government, and he became a co-founder of the Solidarity trade-union movement. Arrested again after martial law was imposed and Solidarity was outlawed, upon release he continued his activism and was prominent in the establishment of a Solidarity-led government.
The future may be overrun by cockroaches and fleas that are said to be able to survive anything, even nuclear war, or we could choose collectively that in the spirit of survival for all of us, that we each put aside our political and theological differences in favor of basic economics and environmental health. A Healthy Economy and a Healthy Environment are extremely co-dependent on each other. It is painfully obvious that the survival of all humankind and every other single creature on earth depends on us to do the right thing.
Every reasonable person on earth should be able to ask why as the most intelligent species in the known universe why it has been so difficult for us to target all of our vast knowledge and resources into limitless solar and wind energy. Unreasonable people who don't think Green Tech will work or that America or the world can afford to make the transition often resort to disrespect and name calling of those who do believe we can change. Nearly all of Europe was rebuilt with the help of the U.S. after World War II. The entire continent looks as if a massive war never even happened there. Japan suffered from more destrction due to firebombing throughout the duration of the war than it did when two atomic bombs were dropped on it at the end of the war. The U.S. helped to rebuild Japan as well. Look at them now, major cities and a major international economic influence. South Korean cities were literally bombed completely flat in the 1950's. Now just a human generation later South Korea has become one of the worlds most modern and prosperous countries with the fastest growing cities on the face of our planet.
America's big problems after World War II were how to find jobs for the tens of thousands of returning soldiers and how to repair an economy that had been entirely devoted to the war effort, right down to rationing tinfoil, sugar, and even bread. We restarted our own economy in record time with "The New Deal," a diverse package of public works that employed returning soldiers. It built our coast to coast freeways, our electric grid, tens of thousands of homes, and our factories which once made war machines began making cars, trucks, merchant ships, and airplanes which led to a wealthy prosperity for most from the 1960's clear through to the 1990's. America became the richest most succesful civilition in history, even more so than the Romans, Egyptians, and Mayans.
Here we all are together in the summer of 2011, each of us knowing (without regard to your own country) that the "status quo" won't last much longer, and certainly it is all not in the best interest of anyone. Our global economy and our global environment are both in grave danger of expiring completely without sensible direction. Most of the worlds economies including America are getting it's ass kicked and we are kicking our environments ass trying to save ourselves. If we keep up the "staus quo" then there is no end in sight, it will only get worse, perhaps beyond repair. Are we going to go down in history as one of the last generations, or are we going to find the resolve and solidarity together as one voice heard around the world that constructs a New Economy and a New Industrial Revolution where Green Technology takes the entire planet into a new age of prosperity for all. A place where all of the coal left in the ground and not yet mined is worthless to us all because of the damage it causes, where water is more precious than Natural Gas, and Oil is more valuable as a manufacturing ingredient than it is as a fuel. A place where no more wells are drilled, mountain tops blasted, rock is fractured or pipelines are built. A time, time to shutdown coal and gas immediately, and to mothball existing oil wells and nuclear power plants as they are no longer productive or reach the end of their practical usage.
Status quo, a commonly used form of the original Latin "statu quo" – literally "the state in which" – is a Latin term meaning the current or existing state of affairs.[1] To maintain the status quo is to keep the things the way they presently are. The related phrase status quo ante, literally "the state in which before", means "the state of affairs that existed previously".[2]

| Russia's "Door To Hell." Natural Gas Drilling Accident That Has been Burning For 35 years |
In Russia, in Uzbekistan a Natural Gas drilling accident and fire had been raging out of control for 35 years already. It's called by locals “The Door to Hell”. It is situated near the small town of Darvaz. Once the geologists were drilling for gas. Then suddenly during the drilling they have found an underground cavern, it was so big that all the drilling site with all the equipment and camps got deep deep under the ground. None dared to go down there because the cavern was filled with gas. So they ignited it so that no poisonous gas could come out of the hole, and since then, it’s burning, already for 35 years without any pause. Nobody knows how many tons of Natural Gas has been burned for all these years or how much Green House Gas is so carelessly being injected into our atmosphere but it seems to be infinite there.

Major OFFSHORE Oil Spill in Brazil’s Campos Basin Caused by Deepwater Drilling
All Press Releases…New Web Tool Allows Free Public Tracking of Oil Spills
November 16, 2011
Washington, D.C.
Contact: Dianne Saenz ( dsaenz@oceana.org | 202-467-1909)
A new oil spill, estimated to have released as much as 157,000 gallons per day into Brazil's Campos Basin, is the latest evidence of the dangers of offshore drilling.
This accident is just one of many oil spills that occur each day, and often go unnoticed. Yet, they do extraordinary damage to marine ecosystems. Oceana, in partnership with SkyTruth, has posted a Web-based mapping tool to help inform policymakers and the public about oil spills in U.S. waters. The tool is now accessible online at www.stopthedrill.org .
SkyTruth automatically compiles and publishes oil spill reports from the National Response Center (NRC), which is data self-reported by the oil industry, the public and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s incident news reports. Because most of the NRC spill reports are filed by the polluters themselves, the number and size of oil spills occurring each day may far exceed even those depicted on the map.
The map highlights spill locations, using satellite imagery to provide as many details as possible. For example, on today’s spill map, we can view the location of a well control line leak approximately 4,000 feet below the Gulf of Mexico surface, on a Chevron well. Like most, this spill has received little attention. From this map, viewers may link to a SkyTruth analysis to learn more about each individual spill.
“This new Web tool will help people visualize the magnitude of the oil industry’s damage to our natural environment and our economy,” said Oceana senior campaign director Jacqueline Savitz. “These spills are often swept under the rug, but the public and policymakers have a right to know how much damage is being done to our oceans. Our work with SkyTruth will help to make that possible,” added Savitz.
"We built SkyTruth Alerts in the wake of the BP disaster, so we could keep track of spills that happen in the Gulf every day. Now we have made it available on the Web so anyone can know about these incidents as soon as we do," said John Amos, founder and president of SkyTruth. "We're thrilled to be working with Oceana, one of the world's leading conservation organizations, to share this tool with everyone who cares about our oceans."
Oceana is the largest international advocacy group working solely to protect the world’s oceans. Oceana wins policy victories for the oceans using science-based campaigns. Since 2001, we have protected over 1.2 million square miles of ocean and innumerable sea turtles, sharks, dolphins and other sea creatures. More than 500,000 supporters have already joined Oceana. Global in scope, Oceana has offices in North, South and Central America and Europe.

Conoco Phillips Responsible For BP Style Ocean Oil Leak Going On Right Now!

Old Conoco pump
According to the Chinese administration, ConocoPhillips has to date been unable to seal off the source of the leaks. However, the event has not caused any perceptible difference to the company’s stock which is presently trading at a 20% discount to our $80 price estimate for Conoco.
The soon to be split ConocoPhillips competes with vertically integrated oil majors such as Exxon Mobil, Chevron, BP, Royal Dutch Shell and independent exploration firms such as Anadarko Petroleum.
The Penglai 19-3 field is the largest offshore oil field in China. [2] ConocoPhillips owns a 49% stake in the field and is the operating partner while the rest of the stake is held by Chinese CNOOC Ltd. [3] While the spill is quite minor in comparison to the BP Gulf of Mexico disaster, the Chinese Administration has been frustrated by the company’s response to the situation.
In a statement, the SOA criticized the measures taken by Conoco as ‘temporary and remedial’ while asking for a complete assessment of the situation and the elimination of further spills. [2] The company has deployed more than 900 personnel and 33 boats in response to the event. It has also pushed into service 67 divers to gather oil-based drilling mud from the sea bed using vacuum technology. [4]
Germany: The World's First Major Renewable Energy Economy. (America's "Alpha Natural Resources" a coal company calls this "Communism." (Silly boys, havn't you ever read The Lord Of The Flies?)
Germany: The World's First Major Renewable Energy Economy
By Jane Burgermeister, European Correspondent | April 3, 2009 | Renewable Energy World .com
Berlin, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Germany's Reichstag in Berlin is set to become the first parliamentary building in the world to be powered 100 percent by renewable energy. Soon the entire country will follow suit. Germany is accelerating its efforts to become the world's first industrial power to use 100 percent renewable energy -- and given current momentum, it could reach that green goal by 2050.
"The technical capacity is available for the country to switch over to green energy, so it is a question of political will and the right regulatory framework. The costs are acceptable and they need to be seen against the huge costs that will result if Germany fails to take action to cut its carbon emissions."
-- David Wortmann, Director of Renewable Energy and Resources, Germany Trade and Invest
-- David Wortmann, Director of Renewable Energy and Resources, Germany Trade and Invest
A new Roadmap published by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment sketches out the route the world's largest exporter plans to take to switch over completely to renewable energy, and add 800,000 to 900,000 new cleantech jobs by 2030 as it does so.
To overhaul key parts of the German economic juggernaut while it is hurtling down the highway, the roadmap lays out an integrated approach, involving measures for greater energy efficiency as well as a steady expansion of all types of renewable energy and a stronger focus on research and development into the next generation of green technologies.
"It's ambitious, but Germany can be running on renewable energy by 2050 if there is the political will," said David Wortmann, Director of Renewable Energy and Resources at Germany Trade and Invest, a government body supporting the country's renewable energy sector.
In 2008, the percentage of renewables in Germany's primary energy consumption was 7.3, but that figure is predicted to increase to 33 percent by 2020 as the country thunders on ahead of other European countries in renewable energy development.
According to the plan laid out in the roadmap, a raft of new energy efficiency measures, including the construction of a smart grid, should reduce the country's primary energy consumption by 28 percent in the next twenty years from 13,842 PJ (peta-joules) in 2007 to 12,000 PJ in 2020 and 10,000 PJ in 2030, slashing billions off the bill that the country has to pay for increasingly costly energy imports.
By 2020, 30 percent of the electricity consumed in Germany is set to be coming from renewable energy sources, with wind energy contributing the most at 15 percent, bioenergy second with 8 percent and hydropower third with 4 percent. By 2015, photovoltaics are expected to reach price parity and so become commercially viable.
Making optimal use of Germany's natural wind resources concentrated along the northern coastlines, huge offshore wind parks, placed in the North Sea, should have the capacity to generate as much as 10,000 MW, feeding electricity into a smart national grid able to transport the energy from the north and east of the country or from the south and west with optimal efficiency using high voltage direct current (HVDC).
The Roadmap estimates that by 2030, as much as 50 percent of Germany's electricity will be coming from renewable energy sources. In twenty years time, a smart grid interconnected with the entire European electricity grid will be in place.
Solar energy will be imported via Italy from the solar thermal plants operating in the sun drenched deserts of North Africa.
At a cost of €6 billion [US $8.12 billion] the national power grid comprising 60,000 kilometers will have been expanded by 850 kilometers and upgraded by around 2015.
It is estimated that introducing tighter energy efficiency measures will reduce total electricity demand in Germany by 10 percent to 550 TWh per year by 2020.
Electric powered cars will be racing down the country's Autobahns using batteries charged from renewable energy sources, slashing the need for oil and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
David Wortmann concedes that the current economic crisis has hit the country's renewable energy sector, but believes that the industry will emerge leaner and fitter.
"The technical capacity is available for the country to switch over to green energy, so it is a question of political will and the right regulatory framework. The costs are acceptable and they need to be seen against the huge costs that will result if Germany fails to take action to cut its carbon emissions," he said.
He said that Germany plans to use all the renewable energy sources at its disposal — wind, solar, geothermal, hydropower and biomass — in an optimal mix.
Wortmann had strong praise for government plans to invest more into research.
"Germany has been a center of innovation in renewable energy technologies for years. There is a real desire to see it continue to be a place where new central renewable energy technologies are developped. Not only the government, but also companies are focussing more resources on research," he said.
He predicted that bioenergy would play a key role in the country's future energy mix, but only where it was sustainable and did not compete with food crops or supplies.
Biomass in Germany is currently growing at the fastest pace of all the renewables, and has, for the first time, overtaken hydropower as a source of electricity.
In 2008, biomass supplied 3.7 percent of the electricity consumed in Germany, up from 3.1 percent in 2007, while wind power's share increased by 0.1 percent, up from 6.4 percent in 2007 to 6.5 percent in 2008.
Biomass's share is predicted to grow rapidly thanks to continuous innovations and new technologies.
One example is a biogas electricity plant developed by Dr. Michael Stelter of the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems in Dresden that uses only compost and waste. The plant not only produces 30 percent more biogas, but it also does it in about a third of the time of conventional plants using food crops. And thanks to a new procedure for breaking down cellulous molecules in compost and waste using enzymes, the period needed for fermentation has been reduced from around 80 days to 30 days. (See lead image of the plant, above.)
To optimize efficiency, the biogas is pumped into fuel cells that operate at 850 degrees centigrade, allowing the plant to achieve a conversion rate of biogas to electricity of 40 to 55 percent. When taking the plant's electricity and thermal efficiency together, the fuel cell has a conversion rate of 85 percent.
A pilot plant with a generating capacity of 1.5 kilowatts of electricity will debut at the Hannover Fair this April, but the researchers plan to develop a 2-MW biogas plant.
With new research institutes and projects constantly being launched across Germany, many more breakthroughs can be expected, helping Germany to become the world's first green energy economy.

Quotes from the video:
"We all want to help one another, human beings are like that. We want to live by each others happiness not by each others misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone, the way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned mens souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed...... machinery that gives us abundance has left us in want, our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind.... the airplane and the radio has brought us closer together, the very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all."

Republicans Editing Science Reports
Politicians and lawyers are Re-writing scientific climate reports. It didn't end with he Bush Administration, it still goes on within government and it's entanglement with the oil, gas, and coal industriues.
THese science papers are from Goddard Instritiute and Nasa, certainly reputable, It is full of MIT grads, supported by the national acedamy of science etc.
These papers were Edited bt white house chief of staff Phil Cooney, former oil industry lobbyist before coming to the white hoiuse. After was caught editing these science papers, then quit and went to work at Exxon.
Cooney (the white house) counsel on environmental quality
is becomes maybe uncertanty becomes
significant remaining uncertainty.
crossed out : energy production contributes to warming, references to human health are marked out.
entire paragraph on glacial melting crossed out.

Weather and Climate Change : The Climate Reality Project
How is climate change impacting the water cycle?
Climate change is increasing our risk of both heavy rains and extreme droughts. But why is that? Aren’t the two contradictory? Take a look at our new visual guide to how climate change impacts the water cycle.
You might remember the water cycle from school: Water evaporates from the land and sea and returns to the earth as rain and snow. Climate change is intensifying that cycle. Higher temperatures mean there is more evaporation. Warmer air can hold more water vapor, which can lead to more intense rainstorms. But much of the water runs off into the rivers and streams, and the soil remains dry. More evaporation from the soil increases the risk of drought.
This graphic draws a picture of how global warming changes the water cycle, and in turn is changing the weather we see outside. Take a look at this graphic and share it with your friends.
And if you’d like even more detail on climate change
and the water cycle, check out my recent blog post here.
