A natural gas (fossil fuel) company that oddly enough has no apparent link to British or U.S. companies really screwed the pooch on this one, proving that Global Destruction in the pursuit of fossil fuel is not just an American problem, but a global problem. On May 28, 2006 Natural Gas Drilling triggered an erruption of hot noxious mud that has buried a dozen villages under as much as 20 feet of ooze, displaced 30,000 residents and killed 13 people, with no end to the eruption in sight. So far this volcanic ruptuer has spewed out more than 99 billion cubic yards of hot, noxious mud, explosive gas and green house gas. This fossil fuel drilling rupture called Lusi by locals, has has errupted continuously for five years already and is not expected to wane enough for it to begin to be controlled for another 25 years. In the beginning of this disaster the Indonesian fuel company, Bakrie Gas and Oil Co. tried to blame the accident on an earthquake that occured nearly 155 miles away two days before, but the accident happened within 200 yards of one of their Natural Gas Fracking Sights in East Java.
Before and After - Indonesia's Natural Gas Fracking Caused Hot Mud Volcano.
Erupting for 5 years now and expected to errupt at least 25 more years.
Those of us who consider ourselves to be adults should be entirely cognizant that the fossil fuel industry has never been able to "morally" regulate itself. Unsuspecting Americans were screwed out of the value of their land and then it was polluted by the very first american oil tycoon ever, Edward L. Dohey. (See the movie about him and the birth of america's oil industry, "There Will Be Blood.")
The same thing is happening in america now with the Natural Gas Industry in America, unsuspecting landowners have signed deals with gas companies that have contaiminated their drinking water so badly with methane (and other chemicals) that water can catch fire.
Not suprisingly the same mistake that BP made with Deepwater Horizon is the same exact mistake that Bakrie Gas & Oil (who has since filed bankrupcy so they don't have to pay for thier errors.) made in East Java. They failed to have a "proper casing" made of cement & steel at their well and sudden back pressure exploded uncontrollably. The gamble Indonesia took for the sake of fossil fuel was assumed by drilling near active volcanoes, incidentally the entire Texas Gulf (BP's Deepwater Horizon location) is also surrounded by active underwater volcanoes. We have just been lucky that it has only happened once so far, and that it wasn't even worse than it is, the largest oil spill in history.

Why do we even take the risk? Every sensible person knows that the oil, coal, and natural gas that was once an amazing benefit to the economical and industrial growth of our civilization has already become a sinister monster that will only fuck us all in the ass by the end of the day. We tried to mitigate our energy crisis with nuclear power, a technology that was originally developed to kill people (lots of people at once.) The world has had several serious nuclear power accidents, contaminating our air, water, and contaminating the land around the accident sites so badly that it will be unhabitable for centuries. There are already enormous stockpiles of radioactive waste hidden around the world that will be a threat to the environment for centuries, no matter what their claims about "new" technology. Here too, the operators of these facilities have a long illustrious record of not being believable or able to regulate themselves morally either.
The coal industry also has a shamefull history of not being able to regulate itself morally as well. They have denied health risks to their miners have existed, cut corners with tens of thousands of workplace violations presumably because it saves them money and increases profits, but it also results in explosions and the deaths of workers.

The most shamefull fact of all in this pattern of energy industry crimes against workers and against nature is that governments are not only complacent about immoral fuel industry activities, governments are active participants in the profiting off of them, In fact "global governments" have taken the lead in exploiting these foul and dangerous resources, their once welcome benefits to humankind have become lost in the past. The Ecuadorian Goverment sold out it's people to Chevron when Chevron dumped 18 billion gallons of toxic waste water into the Amazon. The U.S. governement has exempted Natural Gas companies from reporting which chemicals and how much of them are pumped into the ground of American soil. This is known as "The Haliburton Loophole." The Interior Departments Division of Mining and Mineral Resources, the United States Geological Survey, the Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Bureau Of Land Management, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the United States department Of Energy all have proven themselves unable to regulate themselves morally. Haliburton Company has inextricable ties to U.S. Government. They are the only BP Deepwater Horizon Contactor that is not getting sued over their role in the disaster. Haliburton contractors work side by side with U.S. Soldiers in the long running lethal "chess game" in the Mid-East to protect and/or take as much oil and gas as America can get it's hands on. Government has even gone so far as to minimize and even stop Green Energy Technology from even being developed for fear it will steal away their personal profits from the fossil fuels industry.
Here we are all here together with plenty of differences and also the knowledge that life as we know it depends on each and evreyone of us to help perpetuate it. We are the highest form of life, or are we?
Just like the reality of the "Cold War," every person on earth was fully aware that Nuclear War, intentional or accidental is an immediate threat to the entire planet. We each have the power to choose whether we will continue to trust the people who manage all this stuff (by doing nothing) and resting our fate in their hands, or band together with one voice, with the passion of The Million Man March on Washington DC for equal rights, taking to the streets to end the war in Vietnam, the non-violent civil resistance by the masses of people and the deadly retaliation and massacre of civilians by the Chinese Governement in Tiananmen Square, this protest was in favor of anti-communist economic and political reform.
Friends and neighbors have even banded together with onstoppable passion actually taking up arms to fight and risk thier own lives for the pricnciples of human rights such as in our international Solidarity to crush the evil Nazi extermination of other people, and the countless Civil Wars throughout history that occured when tens of thousands of citizens decided that their own governments have become unjust. Naturally non-violence and democracy is the preferred method for change and the improvement of our human condition. My last example is of Lech Walesa, the person who gave us the word Solidarity. He is a Polish politician, trade-union organizer, and human-rights activist. A charismatic leader, he co-founded Solidarity (Solidarność), the Soviet bloc's first independent trade union, he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, and served as President of Poland 1990–95. Wałęsa was an electrician by trade, with no higher education. Soon after beginning work at the Gdańsk (then, "Lenin") Shipyards, he became a trade-union activist. For this he was persecuted by the Polish communist government, placed under surveillance, fired in 1976, and arrested several times. In August 1980 he was instrumental in negotiations that led to the ground-breaking Gdańsk Agreement between striking workers and the government, and he became a co-founder of the Solidarity trade-union movement. Arrested again after martial law was imposed and Solidarity was outlawed, upon release he continued his activism and was prominent in the establishment of a Solidarity-led government.
The future may be overrun by cockroaches and fleas that are said to be able to survive anything, even nuclear war, or we could choose collectively that in the spirit of survival for all of us, that we each put aside our political and theological differences in favor of basic economics and environmental health. A Healthy Economy and a Healthy Environment are extremely co-dependent on each other. It is painfully obvious that the survival of all humankind and every other single creature on earth depends on us to do the right thing.
Every reasonable person on earth should be able to ask why as the most intelligent species in the known universe why it has been so difficult for us to target all of our vast knowledge and resources into limitless solar and wind energy. Unreasonable people who don't think Green Tech will work or that America or the world can afford to make the transition often resort to disrespect and name calling of those who do believe we can change. Nearly all of Europe was rebuilt with the help of the U.S. after World War II. The entire continent looks as if a massive war never even happened there. Japan suffered from more destrction due to firebombing throughout the duration of the war than it did when two atomic bombs were dropped on it at the end of the war. The U.S. helped to rebuild Japan as well. Look at them now, major cities and a major international economic influence. South Korean cities were literally bombed completely flat in the 1950's. Now just a human generation later South Korea has become one of the worlds most modern and prosperous countries with the fastest growing cities on the face of our planet.
America's big problems after World War II were how to find jobs for the tens of thousands of returning soldiers and how to repair an economy that had been entirely devoted to the war effort, right down to rationing tinfoil, sugar, and even bread. We restarted our own economy in record time with "The New Deal," a diverse package of public works that employed returning soldiers. It built our coast to coast freeways, our electric grid, tens of thousands of homes, and our factories which once made war machines began making cars, trucks, merchant ships, and airplanes which led to a wealthy prosperity for most from the 1960's clear through to the 1990's. America became the richest most succesful civilition in history, even more so than the Romans, Egyptians, and Mayans.
Here we all are together in the summer of 2011, each of us knowing (without regard to your own country) that the "status quo" won't last much longer, and certainly it is all not in the best interest of anyone. Our global economy and our global environment are both in grave danger of expiring completely without sensible direction. Most of the worlds economies including America are getting it's ass kicked and we are kicking our environments ass trying to save ourselves. If we keep up the "staus quo" then there is no end in sight, it will only get worse, perhaps beyond repair. Are we going to go down in history as one of the last generations, or are we going to find the resolve and solidarity together as one voice heard around the world that constructs a New Economy and a New Industrial Revolution where Green Technology takes the entire planet into a new age of prosperity for all. A place where all of the coal left in the ground and not yet mined is worthless to us all because of the damage it causes, where water is more precious than Natural Gas, and Oil is more valuable as a manufacturing ingredient than it is as a fuel. A place where no more wells are drilled, mountain tops blasted, rock is fractured or pipelines are built. A time, time to shutdown coal and gas immediately, and to mothball existing oil wells and nuclear power plants as they are no longer productive or reach the end of their practical usage.
Status quo, a commonly used form of the original Latin "statu quo" – literally "the state in which" – is a Latin term meaning the current or existing state of affairs.[1] To maintain the status quo is to keep the things the way they presently are. The related phrase status quo ante, literally "the state in which before", means "the state of affairs that existed previously".[2]

| Russia's "Door To Hell." Natural Gas Drilling Accident That Has been Burning For 35 years |
In Russia, in Uzbekistan a Natural Gas drilling accident and fire had been raging out of control for 35 years already. It's called by locals “The Door to Hell”. It is situated near the small town of Darvaz. Once the geologists were drilling for gas. Then suddenly during the drilling they have found an underground cavern, it was so big that all the drilling site with all the equipment and camps got deep deep under the ground. None dared to go down there because the cavern was filled with gas. So they ignited it so that no poisonous gas could come out of the hole, and since then, it’s burning, already for 35 years without any pause. Nobody knows how many tons of Natural Gas has been burned for all these years or how much Green House Gas is so carelessly being injected into our atmosphere but it seems to be infinite there.
